Lauren Bell is a third-year PhD Researcher at Ulster University. Her project examines the Scottish migration to Ulster in the 1690s, a much-neglected topic within Scottish and Irish history. Her research assesses the push and pull factors of the Scottish migrants to Ulster, in addition to, their social status, regional origin and religious affiliation. Furthermore, a greater examination of return migration, ministerial movement and the reception of these Scottish migrants in 1690s Ulster has been undertaken in her project.
