I am a social and gender historian of nineteenth-century Ireland. My research explores Irish society through the lens of the sibling relationship. I graduated with my PhD from Queen’s University, Belfast, in 2021. I am currently Lecturer in Modern Irish

PhD candidate in Comparative Folkloristics at Ulster University. My PhD research project compares fairy legends from Ireland and Iceland with a view to ascertaining the degree of similarity and discerning the underlying causes.

I am currently a PhD researcher at Ulster University. My area of focus is crime and mental health among young men in the north west of Ireland during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
