The American Conference for Irish Studies (Western Region) will be held at University of Montana, Missoula on September 19-21, 2024.

The deadline for submissions has now passed. All conference presenters and attendees must be current paid members of ACIS by the conference date.

Submission Guidelines: Individual papers and panel submissions (3-4 participants) are welcomed, as are proposals for presentations in non-traditional formats such as poetry, monologues, roundtables, discussion groups, or seminars. Abstracts should be 250-300 words in length and should include a brief (100-word) bio of the presenter. Proposals should be submitted via the website, soon to be set up and should be between 15-20 minutes long.

Please also indicate if you are eligible for the Jordan-Potts Award which recognizes exceptional work by emerging scholars in Irish Studies. It is awarded annually to the ACIS-West member judged the most meritorious emerging scholar (current graduate students and scholars within three years of having received a PhD). The recipient is chosen by a committee of ACIS-West members appointed by the organization’s president, and the award will be presented at the conference’s closing banquet. The award is accompanied by a $500 honorarium. For more information about the award and the generous donors who have made it possible, see https://aciswest.wordpress.com/awards/.
