ACIS offers two graduate student doctoral fellowships schemes intended to support travel costs incurred in the course of conducting research. The Larkin Research Fellowship in Irish Studies is given to annually to a Ph.D. student conducting work in history or the social sciences on an Irish topic. The Krause Research Fellowship in Irish Studies is awarded annually to a Ph.D. student working on a topic in Irish literature. For both prizes, eligible topics include Ireland as well as the Irish global diaspora. Applicants must be doctoral candidates at a North American institution.

The deadline for the fellowship application typically falls in December of each year for research to be undertaken in the subsequent calendar year. Check the ACIS website, keep an eye on your monthly e-digests, or watch the ACIS Facebook page for details.
Application materials include a 2-3 page application letter (with a description of the research project and a statement of purpose), a CV, and two letters of recommendations.
