Member of ACIS since 1964. Served as president. of Mid-West Conference and also as president of the national conference. Faculty member at Marquette University from 1964-2000,serving as history dept. chair from 1979 through 1993, and as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1993 through 2000. Thereafter, was appointed to an endowed chair at Boston College with the rank of University Professor of History where I taught a Fall semester course while also serving as Executive Director of the Center for Irish Programs with oversight for Irish Studies, the Irish Institute, Boston College Dublin, and the Burns Library Visiting Scholar. Publications include several dozen articles in peer reviewed journals, as well as different books as author (1), as co-author (1), as co-author and co-ed (3), as ed. (2), and as co-ed(1). Presently retired in Topsham, Maine as BC University Professor of History emeritus where I plan to continue limited teaching and research.
