Ted Smyth is President of the Advisory Board of Glucksman Ireland House at New York University and Chair of the Clinton Institute Board at University College Dublin. A former Irish diplomat, Ted worked on the Irish peace process and early European Union membership. He was later Chief Administrative Officer at the global food company, HJ Heinz, and Executive Vice President at S&P Global, the financial research and ratings company.

An MA graduate in Irish Studies at NYU, Ted publishes regularly in the Irish Times and Irish Central. His article, “Irish American Organizations and the Northern Ireland Conflict in the 1980s: Heightened Political Agency and Ethnic Vitality,” was published in the Journal of American Ethnic History in 2019. His chapter on “The New Ireland Forum” was published in Brokering the Good Friday Agreement: The Untold Story, Mary Daly (ed) Royal Irish Academy.
