Susan Johnston is on the faculty of the Anthropology department at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She has been doing archaeological research in Ireland since the 1980s, and she teaches a variety of courses in anthropology and archaeology, including the archaeology of the Celtic peoples. Since 2004 she has been doing research at Dún Ailinne, a multi-period site in Co. Kildare. Most recently she has directed excavations there as a field school for students in collaboration with the Blackfriary Archaeological Field School.
