Síobhra Aiken is a lecturer in Queen’s University Belfast. She has published widely on the Irish revolution (1916–23), the Gaelic Revival in Ireland and the US, and on Irish-language literature. Her doctoral dissertation from the National University of Ireland, Galway was awarded the 2021 Adele Dalsimer Prize for Distinguished Dissertation by the American Conference of Irish Studies. This led to the publication of the monograph Spiritual Wounds: Trauma, Testimony and the Irish Civil War (Irish Academic Press, 2022). A former Fulbright Scholar, she is also the editor of the publications The Men Will Talk to Me: Ernie O’Malley’s Interviews with the Northern Divisions (Merrion Press, 2018), and An Chuid Eile Díom Féin (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2018).
