Serenity Dougherty is currently an MFA candidate in Fiction at the University of Missouri St. Louis. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2013 and a Master of Arts in English with a dual emphasis in Pedagogy and Creative Writing from Northern Michigan University in 2016. Her primary research is focused on stand-up comedy, which she has been performing for eight years.
