Ruby Harris-Gavin graduated with a Masters in Irish Studies from NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House. Her work focuses on the historical impact of the environment on culture, and what the decline of wild spaces means for the future of Ireland. As a Galway native who grew up in California, Ruby received a B.S. in Zoology and a B.A. in Biological Anthropology from UC Santa Barbara, and hopes her research will promote and preserve native landscapes from Ireland to the California Coast. She is now back at UC Santa Barbara for an Ecology Masters/PhD in Dr. Hillary Young’s Lab.
