Rosaleen Crowley was born in Cork, Ireland. A graduate of University College Cork, she taught English and Speech and Drama in Ireland and England before moving to Indiana. She is a Poet, Artist, Poetry Coach, International Speaker and Educator. Rosaleen is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing Poetry at Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA .

Point of Connection, Point of Reflection, and Point of Perception make up her trilogy.. “Of Land and Poetry: Ireland” is a compilation of poems written about Ireland or when in Ireland. Her experience of moving to a new culture and feeling at home in Indiana is also a focus of her writings. Memory, Nature, Distance and Culture are among the themes that she explores. “Be Prepared To Be Luminous” published December 2023, looks at Surroundings, People, Gratitude and Contemplation.

Rosaleen’s volunteer positions include Co-Founder/President, Carmel Creative Writers, Inc. and Interest Group Leader-Writing, International Women Indiana.

Read poetry at closing reception at Midwest Regional ACIS in Nebraska, 2019

Earlier in career as a poet, she presented a program “Irish Heart and Spirit” at Indianapolis Libraries- Glendale, Spade and Irvington, Indianapolis and was a Featured Local Author at Carmel Clay Library Foundation, Author Series.

Wrote a poem for 25th Anniversary of Association of International Women 2014 and read same at their Anniversary Gala. She was also commissioned to write a poem for 30th anniversary.

Presented at O Bheal, Cork as part of Women the World Over. This event was organized by Paul Casey supported by a grant from The Community Foundation for Ireland.

Presented “Irish Heart and Spirit” in a showcase at Artists Without Walls, at the Cell Theatre New York on two occasions.

Delivered a program at Cork City Library, Cork, Ireland: Point of Reflection: Connections, Migrations and New Roots 2019

Presented a paper on resilience as part of a panel at University of Miami, Ohio in 2022

Read a poem written for the occasion- Zionsville: A Sense of Place and read as a creative interlude at inaugural TEDX Zionsville October, 2022.

Read at Youghal, Co Cork tourist office for Culture Night in Ireland, September, 2023.

Signs her books at Barnes and Noble, Carmel, Noblesville and Keystone at the Crossing.

Loves to custom make programs and give guidance to writers through writing group meetings and gatherings of people open to learning through an art form that uses intelect and senses/emotions/feelings to explore a topic.
