Phyllis Boumans is a PhD student in Irish literature at KU Leuven where she is researching the publication and mediation of Irish short fiction in the Irish literary periodical The Bell (1940-1954) under the supervision of Professor Elke D’hoker. She previously completed an MA in Literary Studies and the Book Industry and a BA in English. She also holds a PGCE from Utrecht University specialising in bilingual and international education. She has published on Irish short fiction and The Bell in Irish Studies Review and New Hibernia Review.
