Peggy Dunn Sturba is a visiting professor in the Honors College at Coastal Carolina University (in South Carolina) and Professor Emerita of English at Henderson State University (in Arkansas). Her research interests include Irish literature and culture (especially 19th century to contemporary), Gothicism, and British Romanticism. Her publications (as Peggy Dunn Bailey) include a number of scholarly, peer-reviewed essays on contemporary literature as well as essays on 19th century British poetry. She has presented most recently (February 2025 in Savannah, GA) on approaches to teaching an interdisciplinary course devoted to the study of the Great Famine and The Troubles. A passionate teacher-scholar, she was thrilled to offer the first course in Irish Literature and Film at Henderson in 2020 and to substantially revise the course for the Honors College at Coastal Carolina University in 2025.
