Patrick R. Mullen is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University, Boston. He works on modernist and contemporary Irish literature, Irish film, queer theory, and critical theory. He is the author of The Poor Bugger’s Tool: Irish Modernism, Queer Labor, and Postcolonial History (Oxford UP, 2012). He has also published articles on James Joyce, Roger Casement, Edith Wharton, and Belinda McKeon. His “The Epistemology of the Pantry: A Queer Inventory of James Joyce’s ‘The Dead”” appeared in The New Joyce Studies (Cambridge UP, 2022). He is currently finishing a manuscript titled “Queer Possessions: Sexuality, Economics, and New Social Imaginaries in Irish Literature and Film.”
