Marie Hulme is a lecturer in the Department of Languages and Literature at Sacred Heart University. She received her B.A. in English from Smith College, an M.A. in English and American Literature from New York University, and an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Fairfield University. She has presented on Seamus Heaney at the Association of Core Texts and Courses (ACTC) Conference (2019). Currently, Marie teaches creative writing and is at work on a novel set in Belfast and Dingle. Her short story “Special Romantics” won third prize in the National Story category for the Hackney Literary Awards (published in the Birmingham Arts Journal (Vol 11, Issue 2) and her creative nonfiction vignettes “Love Letters to London” have won first prize in the memoir category of the Keats Soul-Making Literary Awards from the Pen Women of San Francisco.
