Lynsey Black is a lecturer in criminology in Maynooth University’s School of Law and Criminology. Her research explores historical criminology, gender and punishment, the death penalty, postcolonialism and borders. Her monograph ‘Gender and Punishment in Ireland: Women, Murder and the Death Penalty, 1922-64’ was published by Manchester University Press in 2022. She is the recipient of an IRC Starting Laureate for her research on crime and criminal justice at the Northern Ireland border from partition to Brexit.
