I am a third-year doctoral candidate researching the ways in which contemporary Irish women writers are using the short story form to address taboo subjects such as abortion, lesbianism, gendered violence and the immigrant experience. I am asking questions about the suitability of the form to capture women’s experience in a period of rapid modernisation and change in the Irish context.

I have presented at a variety of conferences, both nationally and internationally, and look forward to speaking at ACIS 2024.
