Leanne Calvert is a historian of women, gender and the family, with a special focus on Presbyterian families in Ireland and North America, between the eighteenth- and nineteenth-centuries. Leanne has published widely on sexuality and family in Ireland, her work can be found in journals including English Historical Review, Gender and History, Women’s History Review, Cultural and Social History, and Irish Historical Studies.
Leanne is currently working on her monograph, Sex, Scandal and Sin: Presbyterians in Ireland and North America, c. 1717-1830. The project is generously funded by the British Academy / Leverhulme Small Grant Scheme, the RJ Hunter Bursary from the Royal Irish Academy, the Anna Parnell Travel Grant from the Women’s History Association of Ireland, and a Research Fellowship with the Presbyterian Historical Society, USA.
