Dr. Irene Horgan earned her Ph.D. from the University of Limerick (Ireland) M.B.A. from the University of New Haven Graduate School, and B.A. Cum Laude from Albertus Magnus College (Connecticut). She has lectured as an Adjunct Professor at Post University and is Director of the Horgan Academy of Irish Dance. She is a certified teacher (T.C.R.G.) and adjudicator (A.D.C.R.G.), choreographer, Irish Dance scholar, historian, and award-winning author. Her book entitled “Celtic Connecticut Connections: Irish Traditional Dance 1796-1921: Perspectives in History, Culture, Immigration, Religion & Academia” won a 2023 Book Award from the Catholic Media Association, and in February 2023 was named a #1 New Release by Amazon Books in multiple categories including Dancing Reference, Choreography, Folk Dancing, Roman Catholicism, and New England U.S. Biographies.
