Emma Webb is a master’s student in musicology at Rice University in Houston, TX. Her previous research pertained to Romantic piano literature and she was awarded for her presentation at the Lee University’s Undergraduate Research Symposium for “Metrical Dissonance in Johannes Brahms’ Rhapsody in B minor.” Webb graduated with a bachelor’s in piano performance from Lee University in 2022 and shifted gears to musicology. She is currently working on her master’s thesis in Irish Orientalism and plans to pursue a doctoral degree in musicology or ethnomusicology focusing on Celtic studies.
