Emma Webb is a musician and musicologist based in Houston, TX. She received her master’s in musicology from Rice University in 2024 and her bachelor’s in piano performance from Lee University in 2022. She recently completed her master’s thesis research titled “Celts, Saxons, and Milesians: Orientalized Nationalism in Young Irelander Ballads,” a portion of which she presented at the ACIS 2024 national meeting. Her early research pertained to Romantic piano literature and she was awarded for her presentation “Metrical Dissonance in Johannes Brahms’ Rhapsody in B minor” at Lee University’s Undergraduate Research Symposium. Webb plans to pursue a doctoral degree in ethno/musicology focusing on Irish studies.
