David Kenney researches genre development in the nineteenth-century Irish novel. His work examines how competing cultural and historical narratives have shaped aesthetic evaluation and canon formation. He has been awarded the W.B. Yeats Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame and his articles have been published in New Hibernia Review and The Green Book: Writings on Irish Gothic, Supernatural, and Fantastic Literature. In addition to his scholarly work, he also writes short fiction and has several stories published by Eerie River Publishing and Rogue Planet Press.
