Danine Farquharson is a Professor of English at Memorial University. Her early research focused masculinity and violence in contemporary Irish literature and film. More recently, her interests have broadened into the environmental and energy humanities. She is co-editor (with Sean Farrell) of Shadows of the Gunman: Violence and Culture in Modern Ireland and (with Fiona Polack) of Cold Water Oil: Offshore Petroleum Cultures. She is currently working on eco-feminism and energy politics of contemporary Irish cultural texts.
