I currently serve as Assistant Chair and Professor of English at Middle Georgia State University in Georgia. I have also taught at the Univeristy of Missouri (as a graduate teaching assistant), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Chonbuk National University in Korea, the University of Balamand in Lebanon and also at Koç University and Doğuş University in Istanbul, Turkey. I am a member of the Atlanta Clan na nGael of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Some of my Irish-related publications include a book,

Clans and Families of Ireland and Scotland: An Ethnography of the Gael, A.D. 500-1750; chapters on Éilís Ní Dhuibhne and Benedict Kiely; a chapter on “Gaelic Borderlines and Borderlands in the New Cultural Geography of Scotland” and another, “Other Dragons or Dragon Others? A Cultural View of the Loch Ness Monster,” and an article, “Austrian Images in the Works of James Joyce.”
