Cathleen Houlihan graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2019 with her degree in economics and a minor in Irish Studies. Her undergraduate capstone included a transcription of the first book of membership of the Gaelic League from 1893 and an analysis of the League’s lasting effect on the use of the Irish language today. Currently pursuing her graduate degree in Irish and Irish American Studies from New York University, Houlihan hopes to study more of the Irish language and the Irish American identity that has shaped her upbringing. In her free time, she likes to Irish dance and speak Irish with her family.
