Research background: Double First History and Archaeology UCD, 1985; M.Phil (Dunelm) on Irish influence on early ecclesiastical settlements in Scotland 1989; D.Phil (Oxon.) on Tírechán’s Collectanea and seventh-century cult of St Patrick (1994); M.Phil (Dublin) on the influence of early forms of Irish on Tírechán’s Latin (2001).
