Bryan McGovern is a professor of history at Kennesaw State University, where he teaches courses in American and Irish history. His research field is Irish-American Nationalism, and he authored John Mitchel: Irish Nationalist, Southern Secessionist with the University of Tennessee Press (2009) and co-authored The Fenians: Irish Rebellion in the North Atlantic World, 1858–1867 (2013). He has also written various journal articles on Young Ireland, Andrew Jackson, and Irish immigration.
