Bairbre Ní Chiosáin, originally from Dublin, is a lecturer in the University of Toulouse Capitole (France).

Her PhD, from the University of Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle, was on government policy on immigration and integration in Ireland.

She is a member of the French Society of Irish Studies (SOFEIR) and of the Irish Embassy-sponsored research network “EIRE” (Etudes irlandaises Réseaux et Enjeux).

The main focus of her research is on the reception in Ireland of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in recent years, where she examines the political, legal, social and cultural changes taking place in Irish society as a result of this recent immigration.
