Dr Mashilker is Adjunct Professor of English at Towson University. A Joyce scholar by training, in her interdisciplinary research she considers intersections of indigenous and Judeo-Christian mythologies, grounding the critical task in archetypal and aesthetic theory (as well as theories of gender and identity). Her chapter, “Reclaiming the Fisherman: Soul Searching in Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales” was included in the 2017 monograph, Quintessential Wilde, edited by Annette Magid. She has two book projects awaiting publication homes–Beyond Homer: Joyce’s Aesthetic and the Archetypal Feminine in Ulysses, and #motherfail, an unfiltered examination of academic motherhood.
