Research Interests I recently completed my PhD at Cambridge University, which is concerned with networks of global humanitarianism and the Great Irish Famine. I am a social historian particularly interested in travel, global exchange, Ireland, Empire, class, gender, and education and inequality.

I am currently working on an interdisciplinary research project exploring the history of mutual-aid and state violence in modern Ireland. The project focuses on case studies from the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

I am also a public historian and I like reading the landscape as an historical text, through devotional objects or buildings.

I previously worked as a digitisation officer at the University of Edinburgh Library and the National Library of Scotland.
