ACIS Logo Irish Language Literature and the Folklore of Ireland Symposium: New York, 22-24 February 2018

All are welcome to attend activities related to the symposium at CUNY February 22-24, 2018. A call for papers is located at http://www.lehmangaeilge.org/ . The keynote speakers will be Dr. Críostóir Mac Cárthaigh, Director of the National Folklore Collection at UCD, and Prof. Pádraig Ó Siadhail, writer and the Thomas D’Arcy McGee Chair of Irish Studies at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Papers at the symposium will be read in English on Friday, February 23 and in Irish on Saturday, February 24, both days at Lehman College in the Bronx. A pre-conference lecture will be given in English at 4pm on Thursday, February 22, at Queens College by Dr. Mac Cárthaigh. The Symposium Dinner at Rory Dolan’s Restaurant Friday evening will honor Bernadette Broderick, Paul Ferris, and Lynne Van Voorhis. The symposium is made possible by a grant from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Irish National Lottery supported by the Ireland-United States Commission for Educational Exchange (Fulbright Commission).
