ACIS Logo Eighth Annual Brandeis Novel Symposium: Anna Burns’ Milkman

The Brandeis Novel Symposium invites you to join us to think and talk about Anna Burns’s novel Milkman (2018). BNS is a one-day conference that chooses a single novel as a point of focus for salient theoretical, historical, political, and narratological questions about the novel as a genre. Our terrific set of presenters (among them Nasser Mufti, Mary Burke, Sian White) will address Milkman’s connection to the Irish novel, the historical novel, and world literature; the representation of sexual violence and political activism; and the policing and transgression of geopolitical boundaries.

Registration is available here.

No prior knowledge is required, and Boston-area participation has always been widespread. We will also have a virtual option from anyone who is interested and cannot make the trip to Boston. Any student, graduate or undergraduate, who registers will receive a free copy of Milkman.
