Call for Panel Abstracts: Same-Sex Desire and Narratives of Gender in Modern Ireland, NACBS 2014

Call for Abstracts: Panel for NACBS, Minneapolis, MN, November 7-9, 2014

Panel Title: Same-Sex Desire and Narratives of Gender in Modern Ireland

I propose to organize a panel on same-sex desire and narratives of gender in modern Ireland for the 2014 NACBS. As a scholar of Irish gender and sexuality, I look forward to hearing from others with interests in these research fields. My paper considers the impact of Irish independence on the policing of male prostitution, and the construction of masculinities through cases of male prostitutes.

Abstracts from scholars in any discipline are welcome. If interested, please e-mail a 300-word abstract and a one-page CV (conference requirement) to averille@buffalo.edu by February 20, 2014.

Thank you,
