Applications are open for the American Irish Historical Society’s Fall Internship program. The program is a competitive application, providing training for undergraduate and graduate students who intend to pursue a career in Archives and/or Irish Studies.

There are two tracks for our internship program: Archives (involving surveys or methodologies) and Research (involving a subject project). Applicants for the Archives track are most likely to receive an acceptance if they are a current or recent student of an M(S)LIS program or related degree. Interns placed in the research track will be asked to enter the program with a subject of interest within the realm of Irish Studies. This subject should be related to existing collections within the AIHS archives, which applicants may familiarize themselves with via the AIHS website.

In order to apply, send an email to [email protected] with a copy of your resume and a brief cover letter describing your interest in a position. Subject line: “2026 Intern Application [title of position]” Deadline to Apply: August 30, 2026
