Georgetown University is home to the Global Irish Studies Initiative, which aims to engage the mid-Atlantic community with public programming, inspire students, and develop innovative research on Ireland in comparative and global perspective.

Undergraduate and graduate classes with Irish themes are offered in the English, Theology, Anthropology, History, and other departments.

Undergraduate and Graduate students may also take courses in Irish Studies through any of the DC area consortium universities (including American University, The Catholic University of America, George Mason University, The George Washington University, and the University of Maryland-College Park).
